University dormitories
Kubínová, Veronika ; Sibilla, Luboš (referee) ; Struhala, Karel (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with project of a new building of university dormitories in the city center of Brno. It is detached building with basement and four above-ground floors with the irregular rectangular shape. Dormitories can be divided into three fundamental parts. The underground garages can be considered as the first part. Parking places are designed only for students, occasional visitors, and employees. In the underground floor, technical rooms and large warehouse can be found. The second part is designed to the general public including association areas such as reception, coffee-house with outdoor terrace, copy center and tobacco shop. Rooms for students, manager offices, repairman’s room, and laundry can be found in the third part. In total there are 44 two-person rooms and one room for a disabled person on the second floor. The structural system of the building is a cast-in-place concrete frame with a filling of ceramic fittings. The external wall is insulated with mineral wool with a ventilated facade and fiber-cement facade tiles. The building is based on base piles with a pile under each pillar. Vegetation covers a flat roof as well as a part of the north side of the facade. There will also be a public park and two volleyball fields in the area.
Founding of buildings from the scratch - Founding in Horní Štěpánov region
Ščudla, Martin ; Glisníková,, Věra (referee) ; Brdečková, Helena (advisor)
The thesis focuses on evaluation of foundation conditions in Horní Štěpánov region. From this region will be chosen three typical localities, for which will be designed appropriate foundation constructions (shallow or deep) which meet the bearing capacity and settlement. In the end of thesis will be comparison of those localities.
Live typeface
Jiříček, Milan ; Špiřík, Jan (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The work describes the theoretical foundations of modern methods of creating new fonts, that is, using information technology, specifically vector programs. It also marginally shows the history of the font, Roman writing, the basic division of its compositions and describes its individual elements. The next part of the project focuses on creating digital fonts and continues with bringing it to live using algorithms and methods that can easily be processed in Matlab programming language. The method of implementation of the bringing the typeface to live is described and presentation of the generated results are then shown in few examples. Attention is also paid to the coordinates system, which is very important to solve geometric transformations, and two-dimensional vector graphics, which are widely used in the design and to render the fonts. Bézier curves and cubic Bézier curves are described in further detail along with vector graphics rasterization. One part of this text describes very important de Casteljau algorithm. The last chapter focuses on implementation in Matlab programming language, the creation of curves, that means single font characters, and the ways of how the algorithm works with transformations. Some sample images showing transformations using different input arguments are displayed in this section as well. There is evaluation of the contribution of this application and the possibilities of further expansion at the end.
CONSTRUCTION AND TECHNOLOGICAL PROJECT OF PREPARATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE HOTEL AT VALEČ CASTLE
Petrů, Václav ; Jílek, Jan (referee) ; Mohapl, Martin (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the construction of a new hotel building in the Chateau Valeč complex. This building will serve as a garage, restaurant and accommodation facilities. The building is located on the outskirts of the village of Valeč. The thesis contains a technical report of the object, a situation of the building with broader relations of transport routes, a time and financial plan of the construction, a study, a project of the construction site equipment, a design of the main construction machines and mechanisms, a time schedule, an item budget, a technological regulation, a quality control and testing plan and occupational health and safety. Multifunctional building, Brumov - Bylnice
Skřek, Daniel ; Burianová, Lenka (referee) ; Kacálek, Petr (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the design of a multifunctional building, which consists of parking lots, store section, office as well as dwelling units. Multifunctional building has four above-ground floors, full basement and a flat roof. During processing, emphasis was placed on layout solutions to be designed according to legislation and standards. In the basement there are parking lots, the ground flood is used as a store section, the first floor consists of office units designed for start-up companies. The third and fourth floor consists dwelling units from one-bedroom to three-bedroom apartments. The building has a concrete frame structure combined with a masonry system from Porotherm ceramic pieces. Horizontal load bearing system is designed of two way reinforced concrete slabs. Walls bellow the ground level are made from core-filled reinforced concrete blocks. The building is supported by the spread footing concrete system. Multifunctional building is situated in flat terrain in the city of Brumov-Bylnice.
